YEAR 2 TRIP TO KIDWELLY CASTLE
Year 2 enjoyed their trip to Kidwelly castle, where they looked for the battlements, arrow loops, drawbridge and moat. They have written recounts of their morning in the castle.
YEAR 3-4 TUDOR TOPIC
Year 3/4 enjoyed their Tudor experience at Carew Castle, Pembrokeshire. They enjoyed printing, scribing and cooking. They made pottage, bread, tiles and scribed.
On their Tudor Day they practised drama skills in order to perform in the great hall at Pembrey's Tudor castle. They developed archery skills, danced and held a banquet.
YEAR 6 'THE EYE OF THE STORM'
Wow! What a show! Year 6 had an amazing time watching ‘The Eye of The Storm’ at The Grand Theatre, Swansea. We learned so much about Renewable Energy and the environment whilst learning all about the life of Emmie. Diolch yn fawr.
SAFE CYCLING 2019
Congratulations to all of our Year 6 pupils who passed their Level 1 cycling test yesterday - da iawn pawb!
Blwyddyn 5 had a fantastic time at St. Fagans National Museum of History last week. They visited many Victorian houses, compared the differences in society and were even ‘treated’ to a Victorian lesson led by the strict Mrs. Thomas.
PC Craig has visited several classes this term to talk about e-safety, as well as a range of individual topics. In Blwyddyn 3 they were learning about e-safety. Diolch PC Craig for more fantastic tips on how to stay safe online. In Blwyddyn 1, a very interesting lesson on the people who help us! In Blwyddyn 5, a talk on ‘Anti-social behaviour’. In Blwyddyn 2, he taught us about safety with medicines.
MACMILLAN CAKE SALE
Both our pupils and staff would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our parents and families who donated the delicious cakes for our Macmillan cake sale.
We are very proud to announce that as a school we raised £210 for Macmillan Cancer charity. Diolch yn fawr iawn!
Nursery - had great fun hunting for QR codes and naming the colours of Tedi Twt, programming BeeBots and learning about the importance of e-safety.
Reception - had great fun on ICT day. We took photos on our colour hunt, scanned our Pori Drwy Stori QR Codes, listened to The Very Hungry Caterpillar and played with our new Cod-a-pillar. Also, Sail Mali and PC Craig showed us how to stay safe online.
Year 1 - E-safety, coding using our robot mouse and http://Code.org A day full of fun!
Year 2 - have listened to PC Craig talk about asking for permission to use the computer. Pupils from Glan Y Mor shared their Lego robot project with us. We found out about how we leave a digital footprint. We also coded using Botley the robot and a probot.
Year 3/4 - have been learning about online safety during ICT day and had fun programming the Big Trak.
Blwyddyn 5 - We have learnt about the dangers of receiving spam e-mails, discussed the importance of staying safe online and created our own code using micro:bit.
Year 6 - We’ve had such a fun time learning new ICT skills during our ICT Day today- we learned about the importance of talking safely online and developed our coding skills on http://code.org and used Micro:bit to programme LED lights ... what a great day!

PUPPET THEATRE WALES
'Puppet Theatre Wales' visited the Foundation Phase pupils to share the 'Three Billy Goats Gruff' story.We thoroughly enjoyed, thank you.
INTER SCHOOLS COMPETITION
Diolch Ysgol Y Castell for a fun afternoon of Rugby,Football and Netball . We enjoyed the exercise and practisig our skills with friends.
CHILDREN IN NEED
The children enjoyed making Pudsey cupcakes and dressing up in spotty clothes to celebrate children in need. Thank you for your kind donations #ChildrenInNeed2019
We are extremely proud of our talented choristers who performed a medley of songs at the Community Christmas Carols Evening - ardderchog!
Pembrey pupils were proud to take part in this years Elf Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s society
All our pupils performed for their parents and the community in their excellent Christmas nativity shows .
Nursery adn Reception pupils performed 'A little bird told me ' Year1 and 2 pupils in 'The Midwife's Tale' and KS2 pupils performed in an excellent story of the nativity called ‘The Magical Christmas Jigsaw’ Very proud of all our pupils, da iawn blant .
At the end of term we visited Canon Dewi and Reverend Denise at st Illtyd's Church to take part in a Christingle Service. It was a pleasure to see the beautifully decorated Christmas trees at the church also.
CARIAD - BURNS READING DOG
